Celebrate the history of surfing in Caloundra


Visitors and locals alike love Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast as it offers sun, sand and often perfect waves for surfers. Caloundra will host in two major events during January which will showcase the love of surfing and its history and is a rare opportunity for visitors to view memorabilia and stories of this much loved sport.

The Sunshine Coast Council regional gallery is exhibiting Sons of Beaches 72 which highlights the development of surfing during the 70’s. This great exhibit will be showing until the 2nd of February, is a free event with the gallery open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am till 4pm.

Nearby, The Events Centre in Caloundra is featuring a fantastic range of unique and classical surfboard that have been a contributing factor to the evolution of the sport of surfing. Surfing the Decades is open for viewing Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm for the cost of a gold coin donation.
